Welcome to our family
Who are we?
Jonas and Rebecca Kadeghe have 2 children of their own, Kamilla and Joash.
Rebecca is originally from Brighton in England. She met Jonas whilst on a mission trip to East Africa through a family friend.
She had unique opportunities to encounter several different ways of living in Uganda and Tanzania. In her own words: "I ventured into East Africa to learn what we dare not talk about in the west, I never had the notion I was on my way to teach the untaught, for what do I know that could be so important, other than the love of Christ that Africa already does so well!"
Jonas' extended family including five five sisters and their husbands stand alongside Jonas, Rebecca and Mama Ester in support and advice and bringing gifts for the children when they visit.
Ester Kadeghe is affectionately known as Mama.
Not only is she Mama to Jonas and Rebecca, she is Mama to all the children she has welcomed into her home since 2006.
A woman of Christian faith, she sees the whole project as a gift of God. You can read the history in 'About Hope Home'.
