Welcome to our family
The orphanage was established by Ester, a lady from the local community who wanted to provide a stable home for some of the local orphans. 13 orphans currently live here along with 3 staff. The orphanage was founded in 2006 and relies on donations, the help of volunteers, and the local community to keep it running.
The children that live at this house are currently aged between 4 and 12 and have been orphaned as a result of HIV/AIDS.
A Trust has been set up in Moshi to oversee the charity. It is called Kilimanjaro Tanzania Aid Association (KITAA). The UK based charity is called Hope Home Trust and was set up in 2009 to provide permanent accommodation and to support the sustainable growth of the project.
Kitaa Hope Home orphanage is a family run facility; we aim to improve lives of young children who would otherwise have little hope.
We are a dedicated small family, unaided by local government, and we work here as volunteers - we gain no personal profit from donations.
Our goal is to provide a safe, secure, loving home for the children in our care: the kind of home most of us take for granted.
We have a Christian basis, and help the children know the love and leadership of Jesus as they grow into adulthood.
We have 13 children already in our care, enjoying new experiences, and feeling loved and safe. With your help and the help of our sponsors, each child is rising up from the extreme circumstances and the poverty of their past. As we stand together we can make a difference.
